Finally I'm sewing again! It fells so good to have some time to do what you love!So this is my first garment for 2013!As you already seen I have a weakness for maxi's!And this is another example of how much I love them! It's an asymmetrical dress made of jersey and some sheer stretchy fabric I had laying around on my stash. It has a shorter dress inside and a maxi asymmetric layer on top which ties with a waist strap to create more shape.I love how comfortable and flowy it is and though it's just a jersey dress I think it has a special elegance to it!
I made the pattern following this tutorial from Q2HAN.When I discovered their YouTube channel over the summer I was really amazed with their creativeness! They come up with the best tutorials for amazing garments and show how to make the patterns yourself which is something I love! You should really check them out!

1.Become better at fashion illustration
I always find myself admiring fashion illustrations and it's something I would really love to become better at!This year I want to learn and practice more!I'm currently reading this book!
2.Learn and try more pattern making
Until now I drafted some basic patterns, but I would love to be able to make more of my own patterns! There are amazing books and tutorials for pattern making out there and this year I will try my skills on pattern making more!I'm starting with this book I ordered last night!
3.Overcome my fear of certain garments
Though I shouldn't,I really get intimidated by certain garments like classic shirts and coats! But they say the trick to overcoming a fear is to do it!So that's exactly what I'm going to do!Thinking about starting with this class from Craftsy.
4.Become more organized about my sewing
My biggest problem is that I become involved with many garments at once, starting all excited and determined to make them all work, but this usually ends up to a lot of mess.I want to become more efficient with my sewing,to organize and really think through the garments I'm making!
What about you?Do you have any sewing goals for this year? Also any recommendations for books, online classes or tutorials on fashion illustration or pattern making are more than welcome!

Happy New Year!!I can't believe it's 2013 today!I love this time of the year because it's a new beginning where everything is possible! Now you can set your goals for the new year and say that this time you are gonna make them work!I'm not so well on committing to things like new year's resolutions and stuff like that,so I'm not gonna write a list or make big announcements that I know I might not be able to fulfill!I do have many things I want to achieve in 2013 like sew more, learn more about pattern making and maybe start my own etsy shop, but I prefer to work on things on my own time and not be stressed out with big commitments!
I want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone for taking the time to read my blog,I'm really grateful for each and every one of you!May 2013 fulfill all your dreams!
Have an awesome new year!
