How was your week?

It's all about fall sewing plans around here lately! I'm already in the process of planning and sewing my fall wardrobe. The things that I'm sewing are not necessarily fall garments, but garments I believe will get a lot of wear all year around. With the new serger in my hands, I'm all about proper sewing and I take the needed time to finish my garments properly and check that everything looks polished and professional.

As the season changes, I'm thinking a lot about my wardrobe, style and choices. I didn't had a chance to follow The Wardrobe Architect by Coletterie last spring, but I'm reading all about it now. I'll share my results and progress with you, as well as my sewing adventures.

Hello everyone! It's been a while I shared a make here, although I'm sewing quite a lot these past few weeks. This is because I'm not photographing as much as I'm sewing, but hopefully this will change!

I'm here to share a great dress with you. This is the Senna dress by Lindsay Woodward patterns. When Lindsay was in the hunt for pattern testers for her new pattern I immediately took the opportunity. I had already seen previews of the pattern in Lindsay's blog and I really liked it! The thing I love about this pattern is that it's really versatile. It is a dress, a crop top and a skirt pattern all in one, leading to endless possibilities. The pattern features a loose kimono-sleeve bodice with blouson waistline and a ruched pencil skirt. The neckline comes with scoop and crew neck options.

I opted for a classic look, a little black dress, that's more suitable for everyday. I used a soft medium weight jersey, I cut a size 8 with no alterations and went for the scoop neck dress variation. Lindsay's done a wonderful job making this pattern. The fit is great and the instructions really clear. I had some problems with the ruching, because in the pattern testers copy, Lindsay suggested using elastic thread which didn't really made much difference. Don't worry though, the final copy suggests using a 1/4"(6mm) elastic for the ruching, which solves the problem.

I love the fit of the dress and how comfortable it is for everyday wear. I really enjoyed making this and I'm definitely planning to sew many more variations!

Week in photos is back! So, how was your week?

I can't describe how happy I am! Finally I have a serger! This serger was actually a gift from my grandparents almost a year before, but it never worked correctly. So I finally decided to have it properly fixed. Now I'm obsessed!

If anyone is interested, this is the Singer Ultralock 14SH654, a 3 . 4 ovelock machine with differential feed. I can't wait to sew more things with it!

Hello everybody! I can't believe today my blog becomes 2 years! I remember like it was yesterday the day I decided to make this blog. It's been a wonderful experience until now! The sewing community is an amazing community to be a part of and I'm so happy I took the decision to open my own blog.

Here's to many more sewing years!
