Albion lined jacket

Coat:made by me/Blouse:Oysho/Jeans:H&m/Boots:UGG
With three outwear garments completed in 2013, I can say with confidence that last year, was the year I overcame my outwear sewing fear! You've already seen my first Albion jacket and here is my second make, which was actually my Christmas present to my mum.
I used Colette's Albion pattern again in the jacket version in size M with no alterations. I wanted something warm, but I didn't want it in a coat length. Since I had already traced the jacket pattern pieces and I'm the same size with my mum, I decided to use the jacket version and draft a lining using the jacket pattern pieces. For the outside I used a double faced wool coating, black wooden toggles, two hand-drawn wooden buttons for the sleeve tabs and a black pleather for the back yoke. For the lining I wanted a patterned fabric to give a little twist and some interest to the final jacket. I used this-some sort of woven, I' m not sure about- fabric that I had in my stash. My mum liked the jacket very much and told me it's actually really warm too.
The pattern is beautifully drafted, with very well-written instructions and it came together rather smoothly(expect the part I had to figure out the way to install a lining!).I totally recommend using this pattern, especially if you are a newbie in outwear sewing like myself!
Coletterie actually has an Albion sewalong contest running, with step by step instructions to the whole sewing process.I already entered both my jackets!
