Inspiration: Simple tee

There is just something in the simplicity of a plain tee that makes an outfit seem so chic. I think the trick is in the fabric. It has to be the softest, drapey jersey for it to be the perfect tee. Paired with skinny jeans, boyfriend jeans, maxi skirts, midi skirts, mini skirt, you name it! A must-have basic in my opinion.

I'm currently in the process of planning my fall wardrobe and plain tees are definitely in my plans. For patterns, I'm thinking Briar, Plantain and maybe SJ Tee?
What do you think of the plain tee? Do you have any pattern recommendation?

YES I love a plain, slouchy tee. I definitely agree that the right fabric is the key. I have a self-drafted pattern based on an old UO t-shirt that I've been playing with, and this reminds me that I have a couple rayon jerseys that need to be turned into tees asap!

Personally, I love Grainline's Scout Tee in knit fabric. It's so flattering, easy to sew and a huge wardrobe staple. Plus, you can totally make it up in different sizes, depending on the look you want. Just adjust the shoulder width and you should be good. I need a million of those. Can't wait to see the outfit you come up with!

I really like the plain canvas tee by the same person who does cake patterns! It's a kimono sleeve, but I really like the fit! I've used the briar and the SJ tee! I really like the briar for set in sleeves, and the SJ tee is nice for a raglan, though I do find it a little low cut and like it slides around on my shoulders a lot. I also like using the Scout pattern in knits! Works pretty well for a slouchy tee, though I do recommend sizing down. Also the hemlock is nice for a drop shoulder look!
