Well hello there! It feels good to finally start sewing again. And since spring is on its way in,it only seemed appropriate that I start preparing. And what better way to do so than pieces that can easily fit in your wardrobe and can be dressed up or down. Enter this black skater skirt! It's one of those garments my wardrobe really lacked. I love a good full circle skirt! For this one I followed Q2HAN's amazing tutorial and added a godet for extra fullness. I really love it and I think this is a garment I will get a lot of use out off!

In other news, have you heard that Google Reader is closing?I used Google Reader as a blog reader for a long time, but I switched to Bloglovin' a while ago and I actually prefer it!You can follow me here if you'd like!

Hi everybody! How's your weekend so far?I'm spending the weekend at my parents house and one of my favorite things to do with my mum is baking!Since strawberries are popping everywhere this time of year we decided to make a strawberry tart. For me it's the best light spring dessert!I thought I share the recipe with you in case anyone is interested in making one!

    You will need:

    For the tart base:

    115 gr butter(at room temperature)
    100gr sugar
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    3 eggs
    190 gr all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp baking powder
    1-1 1/2 Tbsp milk

    For the filling:

    750-1000 gr strawberries
1 pack rot Tortenguss(it's a fruit tart glaze-you can sub with strawberry gelatin)

    Instructions:

             1.Preheat oven to 175-200 C.

2.Cream the butter until light and fluffy, add the sugar, the vanilla and the eggs.

3.Mix together the flour and the baking powder.Add to the first mixture, add the milk(sorry forgot to take a photo              of this step).Whisk until you have a soft batter.

4.Grease a tart baking pan and use a spatula to distribute the batter evenly on the form.

5.Bake at 175-200 C for 20'.Check it with a toothpick after 15',if it comes out clean it's ready(do not over bake-it               has to be just slightly brown around the edges).Let it cool slightly.

6.Turn it upside down on a cake stand or plate, arrange the strawberries on top(cut in half-or however you like                     them).Make the tortenguss(or the strawberry gelatin) according to the instruction.Add on top of the tart.If you'd             like, you can add some cream or yogurt on top of the tart base, before placing the strawberries.

You can serve it as it is or add some whipped cream! We chose an almond milk whipped cream!

    Enjoy!

Hi everybody! And happy new month! I can't believe we're already on the 3rd month of this year! Lately I'm finding myself becoming more and more inspired by all the wonderful things happening in the sewing community! Is it my idea or is the sewing community becoming more and more awesome? So many new pattern releases and awesome initiatives are happening!
Jen from Grainline studio released a new pattern, the Archer Button Down shirt!I was looking for a button down shirt pattern forever!Since you know my love for indie designers' sewing patterns I couldn't be happier about this! The pattern comes in two variants,a standard button down shirt and a gathered lower back detail.I have so many ideas for this one!
I've already seen the wonderful lingerie Maddie from Madalynne creates, but was really excited when I read that she will now be releasing patterns for them! She already released her first pattern Amerson as a free download!Since lingerie is something I have no experience sewing,I think Amerson will be a great pattern for my first try!
Of course you already know my love for the Q2HAN creations and tutorials! My asymmetrical black dress is one of my favourite creations and I was awed when I saw their tutorials about two new awesome dresses. The first one is a backless dress perfect for spring and the next one is a black sheer dress with very interesting details!I can't wait to begin these two!
I think you all know Gertie from her Craftsy class "Sew Retro Perfect Bombshell Dress".Now she released another amazing pattern,a loose-fitted vintage top with tie ends and a pair of high-waisted tapered jeans pattern, both included in one Butternick pattern!
In non-pattern related things I love Vicki's initiative to map the whole sewing community! You can add yourself here! It's really exciting to see how many people have the same interest as you and who knows, maybe you'll find some people close to your area!
I hope this inspires you and gives you some new ideas to try!
