I have a sewing routine. Everytime I finish a garment I press it and then I hang it on my clothes rack. It's my favorite part! From that moment, every time I get dressed I look at my latest edition and a little satisfaction smile is created.

We all love a fancy dress or skirt paired with nice-heeled or not-shoes. Feeling polished and put together. But unfortunately for me this can't be an everyday dressing code. But that doesn't mean I don't need to feel put together and well dressed. This is what sewing is here for, right? In order to be able to make even our everyday basic garments feel exactly how we want them!

This is the kind of outfit I'm wearing on a "running-errands" or "working in front of the computer for several hours" kind of day. Relaxed and really comfortable! The top is the-quickly becoming my favorite one- Mandy Boat Tee from Tessuti patterns and the leggings are my all time favorite Virginia leggings from Megan Nielsen. As always I cut an M size and used the softest midnight blue stretch velvet I ever touched. For the top I used a white jersey I had in my stash. I sewed both on my serger and they came together in less than 2 hours!

I love how comfortable ,and easy to wear, track pants are and ,if combined right, how stylish they can look. I'm a big fan of comfort, especially when I'm dressing for work, but I always like to look put together. I think track pants can really achieve both!

So Autumn is sort of finally here, meaning you can get out with wearing a light long-sleeved top in the morning and you definitely need a light jacket in the night! When planning my fall wardrobe I realised a big gap in the skirts department. Enter the Charlotte skirt from By Hand London. These girls have some serious style! I love all of their patterns and the way they style and wear them. But the version that sold me this pattern was actually this one from Hyer Handmade. When I saw Elizabeth's versions of the Charlotte skirt I knew I had to make a mini one!

This is actually my third version of the pattern and the one I love the most. I will document my other versions soon! My first thought when I saw the pattern was a suede skirt! I had this camel colored suede fabric in my stash for a while now and I knew it would make a perfect Charlotte. I cut a size 10/14 with no alterations except shortening it. The drafting, as well as the instructions are amazing. Really clear and a perfect, quick make, even for beginners. Once you start making them, you really can't stop!

For the top I used the Mandy boat tee pattern from Tessuti patterns. I really love this pattern! The fit is relaxed and comfortable and with only 3 pattern pieces it comes together in less that 1 hour! I've been making this tops like crazy lately! I used a beautiful, soft black bamboo jersey for this one and lately it's all I want to wear!
